We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Accounting Manager. You’ll play a key role in managing compliance, accounting, and treasury activities across UKG and John Sands, while supporting wider Finance initiatives.
Who are we looking for?
You should be a proactive, confident self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. You’ll be comfortable managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and supporting both internal colleagues and external contacts where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Customs Duty compliance and accounting for UKG and John Sands, working closely with the International team, and becoming the key Finance contact for international trade,
- UKG Fixed Assets / Capital – accounting, reconciliation, and reporting, in addition supporting our Financial Planning & Analysis team with planning and estimating work,
- Inter-company accounting and reconciliation for John Sands,
- Month-end close responsibilities, including accruals, prepayments, journal entries, variance analysis, and commentary,
- Administration of the Purchase Authorisation Index, which defines the company policy on the level of financial commitment each colleague can make,
- Banking – absence cover for the daily banking process, inputting payments and direct debits into online banking as part of a team rota,
- Treasury – responsibility for cashflow reporting across UKG and John Sands,
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the role’s area of remit,
- Assist the Financial Accounting Manager as required on compliance, tax work, and UK & Ireland statutory reporting – acting as the main support,
- Ad-hoc project work as required.

- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office knowledge.
- Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA background required, ideally actively studying.
The role requires flexibility, which may involve working on some UK bank holidays, where the month end close aligns.
