Our Supply Chain and Operations teams work collaboratively to maximise efficiency and effectiveness, and to evaluate critical activities to continually improve our business operations and supply chain functions. Their main purpose is to work closely with all departments in the business to ensure that everything from raw materials to finished consumer goods are secure and delivered on time as they travel from manufacturers and suppliers to wholesalers, retailers, and other distribution points.

Abu Adam,

Distribution Support Co-ordinator

“I started working for UK greetings back in March 1991 at the age of 19 as an Order processing clerk. After a year I moved into the Order Writing Department. This was a challenging part of my career where I took calls from customers and supported Sales Representatives. Communication and working with others to meet deadlines was a key part in this role. New ways of working and system upgrades also helped us work more efficiently. This gave me an opportunity to work with other departments including the Distribution Centre which led me to move to our Cannon Way site in early 2000. Our DC holds more than 28,000 Picking locations and around 38,000 storage spaces. Everyday brings new challenges and working as part of a larger team has given me the opportunity to develop and be part of an everchanging Distribution Centre.

More recently I had the opportunity to manage the Receipting Office. This has given me a different challenge in managing people, so I have been enrolled in the Leadership Development programme which I plan to complete later this year. This is helping me understand my leadership style and how I can adopt my style to lead the team successfully.”

Tanya Akhtar,

Distribution Supervisor

“I’ve been part of the UK Greetings team for over 16 years and have seen many changes within the business and my own career. I’ve progressed from a Secondary Processing Operative to my current role as Distribution Supervisor. If UK Greetings has taught me one thing, it’s that a career with them is a journey with no end destination. There are always opportunities to progress, challenges to face, with no two days being the same. What I love about UK Greetings is that they’ve invested time in my career development and learning. Having never attended college, this has not only inspired me, but it has proved to me that I am never too old to face a new challenge.”
