ISD Developer – Apprentice

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the ISD team at UK Greetings - the team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the systems that keep our business running smoothly in both the UK and Australia.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, a logical mind, and a willingness to learn. Whether you’re looking to expand your software skills or kickstart your career in technology, you’ll gain hands-on experience.    All the while working towards a recognised Software Development Apprenticeship to support your learning – whatever level you’re starting from.

Key activities and responsibilities include:

• Working as part of a supportive software development team under the guidance of experienced developers.
• Getting involved in real-world projects that help drive efficiency and support business growth.
• Learning the full development lifecycle - from requirements gathering and design, through to coding, testing, and deployment.
• Gaining hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge and SQL Server 2020, with opportunities to explore C# and Java.
• Developing your problem-solving and analytical skills to find practical solutions to business challenges.

Skills and experience:

• You have a genuine interest in technology and software development.
• You are curious, eager to learn, and ready to develop new skills.
• You have a logical approach to problem-solving and enjoy understanding how things work.
• You can work well both independently and as part of a team.
• You have good attention to detail and take pride in getting things right first time.
• You are organised, reliable, and committed to your own development.
• An IT-related qualification would be advantageous but is not essential - enthusiasm and potential matter most.
