We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Finance team, in a key supporting role reporting directly to the Financial Accountant.

You should be a tenacious, confident self-starter, with an appetite to learn and strong attention to detail.
You’ll be working with teams across the organisation, so strong communication and organisational skills are essential, as is having the confidence to interact with key internal departments within the wider business.
Key attributes should include:
• A flexible attitude, adaptable to change and able to work well in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent time management as you will to meet deadlines and provide timely information.
• High integrity ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• Microsoft Office knowledge is essential and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, incorporating pivot tables, lookups, graphs, etc.
Key activities & responsibilities include:
• Prepayments & Inter-Company – aspects of accounting and reconciliation.
• Employee Expenses - shared involvement in aspects of the wider process.
• Prepare and post any necessary journals for month end, including vehicle lease, payroll wage accrual.
• Provide cover for companies’ daily banking input and cashflow forecast.
• Prepare Australian and New Zealand GST return monthly.
• Assist in FBT preparation for John Sands Australia.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
• Manage John Sands fixed assets register and produce depreciation journals monthly.
• Promptly addressing financial-related inquiries from co-workers, management, or external auditors.
It is a pre-requisite that the individual will have a basic understanding of double entry book-keeping and ideally also VAT. Applicants should have an interest in pursuing a career in Finance or can demonstrate experience within the sector. Additionally, there is the opportunity to study towards a professional Finance qualification.
